The Band Wagon, October 23, 2010, 5am - 6am: Unsigned artists, featuring the new release from singer/songwriter Kayte Strong, who I learned of one time at the Corn Hill Arts Festival (say 2? or 3? years ago)...oddly, she presents all covers or material written by others...there's a country/AOR feel here...of course, she's based in Nashville, so why not? Other artists featured include Cassandra Kubinski, Frank Herkimer (doing a song co-written with a one Sam Scozzari), a bona-fide Sam Scozzari demo from the forthcoming album, Some of Adam's DNA, "Driving Down", and old friend, former Rochester-based Pearl-keyboardist Jerry Magill, with a track from an unreleased demo circa 1983..the track is called "Too Many Girls In the World" and sounds nothing like Pearl...do any of you Rochesterians remember Pearl?...they had a 5-song or 3-song (I can't remember) EP in the early 80s, played a rather Hotel Lounge-cum-hard rock style that also put them into venues like the Penny Arcade, and dressed like Moderns (thin ties, black outfits, and the hair thing)...also on the program, my friend, Eric Munson, originally from Idaho and now auditioning profusely in NYC, performs a demo of "Steppin' Out" (the Broadway hit, not Joe Jackson), and you can find him at NewYorkTenor.com, if you so wish.
